For years, my work has centred around death, dying, grief and the conversations many of us would rather put off until we have no choice.

I have worked as a Death Doula, Pet Death Doula, Pet Loss Counsellor and Death Literacy Educator, supporting people and families and helping make conversations about death and end of life more practical, informed and less difficult to navigate.

Alongside that professional experience is something much more personal - a lifetime of living with, loving and caring for my own pets. Together, those experiences have made me think a great deal about one question, “What happens to our pets when something happens to us?”

You can know every detail of your pet's life - when they eat, where they sleep, what frightens them, which medication they need, how to get them into the carrier, the little things that make them who they are - but much of that information exists only in your head.

And in an emergency, a sudden hospitalisation, incapacity or after your death, someone else may need that crucial information to care for your pet.

I haven't stopped believing in the importance of talking openly about death. Quite the opposite. These products are an extension of that work - taking planning out of the theoretical and turning it into something tangible that people can actually put in place.
